Théâtre Paris Villette

211 avenue Jean Jaures, 75019 Paris

The Empire Pavilion.

Founded in 1986 to promote contemporary creation instead of slaughterhouses of La Villette.

At the time of the slaughterhouses of La Villette, this neoclassical building, dating from the late nineteenth, was the pavilion of the leather purse. The large clock hanging from the top of the stone arches and the bell on the roof are another example of this. During the rehabilitation of the Park in the 1980s, the building was the first to be converted into a cultural venue dedicated to theatrical creation. Patrick Gufflet will be the director for twenty-three years. It is here that Joël Pommerat and Yasmina Reza put together their first pieces.
